Mid week, starting work early
Hey All. I've been awake since 12:33 this morning; finally got up about 1:45 (what was the point of lying in bed awake?) I fed the cats (each has a different food), make coffee, and am ready to go get myself a cup in a minute. Gotta a couple of writing chores to do, balanced the checkbook, read a few posts, and figure by 10:30 this morning I won't be worth spit since I've only had about 5 hours of sleep. I can only hope that coffee does its usual reviving magic and I can get through the work day.
Can you believe that Christmas is 25 days away? Where has this year gone? I can't believe we're headed into 2006. Seems like time flies and I just haven't made very good use of it.
Happy mid week! ~ Anna

Don't like to post twice in one day, but
I just wanted to pay homage to my good friend Denise for her help in getting "this old lady" set up. I feel welcome over here, and I appreciate it. I blog because I want to vent, get feedback, share a laff, share a cry, and read others thoughts. I will never knowingly hurt anyone here with my comments, and if I do, please let me know.
I have such a lot to do this time of year, much more than I usually do; I'm feeling so stressed right now, between my volunteer work, my job, my educational project, deadlines, deadlines, deadlines! I have two Christmas parties to go to, one I want to, the other I'm less than enthused about. I just volunteered this morning to bake cookies for a jail ministry from our church; I'm happy to do so, just don't know where I'll get the time. Eh, right now I just want some lunch and to put my feet up for awhile.
Thanks again, Denise, for all your help. Babs, I appreciate you as well. ~ Jena

Two Left feet...
All I could find after my shower was two left feet slippers; guess there is a pair of two right feet just like 'em.
I ended up taking a cold shower for about 1/3 of the time, though not by choice. Our dishwasher sprung a leak sometime during the night, and Pete the fixit man (hubby) is tinkering with it (all men have a "tinker with it" gene). He apparently shut off the hot water or was running hot water in the DW while I was in the shower ~ head soaped up, body soaped up, and ready to rinse. Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!!! I was hollering for somebody to send me some hot water, and gingerly stepping in and out of the cold. Sure, I know it not like we're in Alaska, but I didn't want or need a cold shower Sunday afternoon. :)
As I got out of the shower, I noticed slender "fingers" of purple and dots of purple splattered all over the pale green walls of the bathroom, even on the toilet lid and one finger on the back of the door. Wha????? Then I realized it must be from my latest attempt to color my hair. Good grief, it looks like I musta shook my head like a dog and decorated the bathroom rather grotesquely... guess I'm gonna budget for a professional to keep up the hair coloring... I just can't imagine how I missed seeing the mess before now.
This has not been my finest hour.
I posted this same "article" on the other site, but thought it was worth repeating here where I can get some feedback! ;)

Thanks everybody
Hi all. Thanks for the offers of help, I'm going to need it. Sooner, Babs, I appreciate the welcome. Chatty, that goes for you, too. I'm still on the "other site" ~ I don't have a real beef but things seem plastic over there. I don't tend to be controversial either, but that's just me; I don't mind people speaking their mind, never have. I may or may not agree; some things are worth sticking up for, some things aren't. I can't figure this site out very well, I would like to have links to the blogs I like, but the ability to do that has yet to penetrate my techno-challenged brain! Eh, back to work today. My "project" that I have been belly aching about elsewhere should have been completed Saturday. Unfortunately, my project "partner" ~ once again ~ did not live up to her end of the responsibility, hence the project drags out into this week. One more thing unfinished. Take care all, I'm headed for coffee and then onto the grind.

Gross out at breakfast this morning
Hi all. Was making eggs, grits and toast for the three of us this morning and after breaking 5 eggs into the bowl to scramble, the 6th egg came out bloody! Aaaarrrrgggghhh. I had to throw the whole mess away and start over again; we buy those Eggland best eggs (a bit more costly) and it killed my Irish/Scottish soul to throw out those eggs... I just couldn't bring myself to cook 'em (gag, gag, gag).
When I got up this morning I was greeted by a leak seeping out from underneath the dishwasher ~ one we've had for less than two years. Unfortunately, a friend installed it, so there "ain't" no warantee to the installation.
Yucky way to end the weekend. I did drown my sorrows with a piece of pumpkin bread (best recipe I've ever made for it) and a cup of java... :)

I wish I knew more...
I wish I knew more, frankly. I just can't figure out this site. I have some "friends" from another blog site on here whose blogs I'd like to read, but I can't figure out how to bring up their posts. I have been on this site for more than 6 months but find it so hard to maneuver through that I've gone on to another site. Hopefully, some of my friends/compatriots will find me and help me navigate this unfamiliar maze~ ! JDaaris
